Germany, the first European nation to secure their tickets for Qatar 2022, were victorious in nine of their ten qualifiers, although they did suffer the embarrassment of losing 2-1 at home to North Macedonia in March of 2021. Germany was the first European nation to book their tickets for Qatar 2022.

The unexpected defeat was just the Nationalmannschaft’s third in the whole history of World Cup qualifying competitions. It was also the team’s first loss since the year 2001. (upon falling to England by a score of 5-1 in Munich).

Hansi Flick has effectively righted the ship after the disasters of Joachim Low’s extended reign, most notably the disastrous exits from the World Cup 2018 and Euro 2020. He has reinstalled a winning mindset, collective unity, and greater offensive slickness.

Karim Adeyemi, Nico Schlotterbeck, Jamal Musiala, and Florian Wirtz are some of the promising young players who have broken through in addition to the veteran players that Flick already has available to him. 

TACTICS

Flick uses a 4-2-3-1 formation, as he did during his successful tenure at Bayern, which is a system in which his players, particularly those who are in attack, have the flexibility to utilize their initiative and rotate positionally. Flick is a firm believer in this structure. When they have control of the ball, they switch to a 3-2-5 or even a 3-1-6.

It’s possible that Flick is the right guy to bring glory to Germany since he is an intelligent and reasonable team builder who takes a bold and proactive approach and has exceptional people management abilities.
