Ghana

Ghana now appears to be on the right track and is prepared to be among the surprises at the 2022 World Cup. This comes after a catastrophic performance at AFCON 2021, during which they were eliminated in an embarrassing manner in the group stage, and a tumultuous World Cup qualifying campaign.

An experimental technical team was successful in qualifying for the World Cup after defeating their rivals Nigeria in the play-offs in March on the basis of away goals. This team was coached by Otto Addo as head coach and Chris Hughton as technical adviser.

Finally, the Black Stars are playing as a cohesive unit and with a lot of determination, but after being drawn into Group H in Qatar alongside Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea, Ghana is playing the role of the underdog.

On the other hand, Addo has a young and talented roster available to him that has the ability to make an impact. This squad includes players such as Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus, as well as the possible arrivals of Mohammed Salisu, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Tariq Lamptey, and Eddie Nketiah.

TACTICS

Partey is entrusted with breaking the lines and developing play, while Kudus’ inventiveness and propensity for goals make up for the team’s misfiring offensive players. Ghana’s strongest point is in midfield, where they usually line up in a compact 4-2-3-1 or a versatile 3-4-3.

Thomas Partey

Even though he has been battling with injuries since joining Arsenal, he is still Ghana’s main offensive threat and scored the game-winning goal in the play-offs.
